Adventures in Paper Making

Hello, one of my goals for last year was to try my hand at papermaking. So I took a class in it! It was a basic class and I mostly experimented with adding natural dyes to the paper, only used the Hollander once, used the blender many times and learned that I do not like cotton paper at all.

Making A Pincushion: New and Improved!

P1080280.jpg

Hello everyone, sometime last August I went about making myself a pincushion. It was made around a matchbox because I wanted there to be storage for embroidery scissors and thread so it would be convenient for taking to and from school as well as the various spots I work in in the house.

Natural Dye Test no. 11 of 2016

PC200243.jpg

Hello everyone, today is the last and final dye tests of 2016. Hello everyone! It feels like it has been awhile since my posts have been regular but that is due to school starting againĀ and it has started with a vengeance. So far most of my classes have been all right but I am most excited about my fibres dyeing and painting class as I get to pick and chose my own projects along with how and when I make them with a few loose due dates.

My Me-Made Wardrobe

P9050632.jpg

Hello everyone, recently I finally got to take proper pictures of a few of the tops that I have sewn, which is exciting to me for two reasons. Firstly because most of the pictures you have seen on the blog so far are taken quite quickly in the back room of the house with poor lighting so they aren’t photos I am particularly proud of or two think that they represent the best of natural dyes. So I took the time to take proper pictures of a few of my favorite shirts and I think they represent natural dyes beautifully and I want to share them with you.

Natural Dye Tests No. 9 of 2016

P9060326.jpg

Hello! Today is the ninth installment of natural dye tests. I feel like I’ve done more natural dye tests than that but most of these posts have three different test materials so if you do the math that’s roughly 27 tests.
